Meat Industry Ireland announced that it was breaking away from talks with beef farmers and the Department of Agriculture due to blockades at plants not being lifted.

20 plants have been blockaded which represents 80% of processing capacity.

MII stated that it will adjourn from talks “until all illegal blockades are lifted”.

MII also stated that they respect people’s right to process but will not continue with illegal blockades.
