The Director of the HSE Health Protection Surveillance Centre has warned that cases of measles are likely to rise during the summer months.

Dr Kelleher explained there is an increase in measles throughout the world. It has, he said, been a feature of Eastern Europe and Russia and cases are spreading as travel becomes easier.

He also stated that mandatory vaccinations may have to be in place very soon. This comes days after Simon Harris claiming he would agree with mandatory vaccinations.
