The Taoiseach will be visiting Africa this week to meet Irish troops and NGOs.
Mr Varadkar will be accompanied by Paul Kehoe (Minister of state for defence) and Mark Mellett (Defence forces chief of staff). They will be visiting the 20 Irish soldiers on an EU mission joined by 25 other countries. Al Queda affiliated militants are attacking the French army and UN bases as well. Varadkar will be visiting Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and President Sahle-Work Zewde.
