2018 is claimed to be the worst year in regards to hospital overcrowding according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
108,277 people went without hospital beds which is a 9% increase from last year and nearly double the amount of 2006. January, February and March had the highest figures. Understaffing had been blamed on the overcrowding. The INMO has asked for government co-operation but it hasn’t happened yet, the IMNO executive will meet next week to set strike dates.
