DCU institute for further media and journalism to lead EU project to tackle fake news

The project will cost 2.4 million euro to tackle “fake news”.

It is a three-year project called PROVENANCE which will flag content online that is observed as disinformation. It primal focus is to allow media audiences to determine what they think is true and fake to prevent manipulation or bias in the media. The [project is bein led by Dr Jane Suiter who stated “The speed and volume of disinformation on social media has the potential to undermine democracy, business, and social reputations.”
