Double Murderer executed by Electric Chair

A 63-year-old convicted double murderer has been put to death by electrocution in Tennessee after the US Supreme Court rejected his last minute appeals.

Edmund Zagorski was pronounced dead at 7:26pm local time at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville.

Zagorski, who was found guilty of killing two men in 1983 who were carrying a large amount of cash in order to be 100lb of Marijuana, is the first US inmate executed by electrocution since 2013.
