Intense investigations began on Wednesday after a number of pipe bombs were sent to prominent democrats, including former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Authorities intercepted a wave of the crudely built devices across the entirety of the U.S. from East Coast to West Coast. The Time Warner Center in the center of Manhattan, where CNN’s New York offices are located, was also evacuated after a pipe bomb addressed to ex-CIA Director and Trump Critic, John Brennan, who served under President Obama.
President Trump has condemned the attempted bombings calling them ”despicable acts” and added that ”In these times we have to unify, we have to come together and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America.”
The discovery of the bombs, less than two weeks before the mid-term elections, has sent a ripple of worry across the country as people are beginning to wonder if the political discourse inside the United States is beginning to get out of hand.
